Holy crap! This short story was flipping amazing. Just phenomenal. Loved it!
I different twist on vampires and how they operate. Heart wrenching to read and think about having to live like that. Ms. Pettersson always writes intense, thought provoking stories. I recommend all of her books!!
An interesting take on a vampire story. To me it felt almost like reading a poem, but in short story form. I appreciated it.

of Manhattan..near the Cloisters.. Fell madly in love with the characters.. Great story from a great author..
I always expect something new from Vicki's books and she always delivers. This short story really has a fresh idea on a villain type we all are drawn to and so many have written about in the past. Yet, she has managed to make those fanged fiends a new exciting idea and I want more. Just a glimpse into their lives isn't enough.
I love this Gothic Horror Romance about vampires quietly dealing with the consequences of potentially eternal life. With memories that are short and fading, Ina and Alexander must deal with the horror and sacrifice of what it takes to survive and thrive as vampires. Shining through this dark backdrop is the romance of what these characters do to continually find each other, remember one another, and stay together - and it carries this story beautifully. This is an excellent stand-alone read from author Vicki Pettersson. A perfect bite for those who already love her writing and are anxiously awaiting her next novel, or a great way to discover an urban fantasy author for those who haven't yet read her books.
I loved Vicki Pettersson's Zodiac books and am about to reread them. This short story (it is a short story in my opinion, not a novella) is about 2 vampires and their nasty human "keeper". I don't want to say too much about the story as I don't want to spoil it for anyone. But I think you will enjoy reading it ... no sparkly vampires here.
I have not read any of Vicki Pettersson's books as of yet. I do have a couple lined up to follow through with now. This was a great short story I bought after being directed to it via the author's Twitter feed. Having a couple of her books that the synopsis read interesting, I was a bit daunted by this tale, mainly because I am not much into the romance stuff. However, I loved the ideal of the story, a different possibility of vampirism, let alone that vampires could 'love' each other rather than the usual vampire/human relationship as in most books. I don't know if I would read this if the author expanded it into a regular book, or series, but I think it a good deal at the price I paid.
